UUA refills People of Color Staff

Exciting news! Taquiena Boston sent around a public announcement this week that Rev. Sofia Craethnenn, currently in Northern California serving a UU Congregation. Sofia has been to DRUUMM events in the past and I look forward to receiving her advise and leadership on the growing People of Color community building and spiritual development. Taquiena’s announcement follows:


I am pleased to announce that the Reverend Sofia Craethnenn will join the Identity-Based Ministries staff group as Program Coordinator for Racial and Ethnic Concerns starting September 1, 2005. A graduate of the Starr King School of Ministry, currently Sofia serves as the minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Stockton, CA and is chair of the Journey Toward Wholeness Transformation Committee.

Sofia’s duties will include advocating for ministers and other religious professionals who identify as people of color, Latina/o and Hispanic, and/or multiracial; providing consultation to religious professionals, lay leaders, and affiliate organizations who represent the interests of the constituent groups listed above; and developing programs and resources related to anti-racism and multiculturalism.
