The People Speak Grants$

You can get grants to your organization (church, young adult/campus group, not-for-profit) to host events related to The People Speak (TPS) initiative funded in part by the United Nations (UN) seeking to foster dialogue in the US about US world involvement.  It would be great to see UU’s taking advantage of these funds!

It’s simple: three steps. All your organization has to do is organize
events that involves people talking about this year’s TPS theme,
"Working Together with the World: What’s in it for the United States?"
The three main topic areas are: (1) Peace, Security, and Human Rights;
(2) Energy and Global Climate Change; (3) Millennium Development Goals
(A series of eight goals that the UNF and its supporters would like to
reach by 2015).

Step One: Think of events (such as public discussions, debate tournaments, panel talks, media content, and so on) you could organize. Please refer to the TPS Toolkit for more ideas and information to help you prepare.

Step Two: Once you’ve thought of the events you’d like to host, go over the TPS Grant Application Form Instructions, to help you fill out the TPS Grant Application Form. In the Grant Application, you will include a budget indicating how much funding you would need.

When approved, organizations will be awarded a lump sum for their series of events. Funding is limited, so please apply as soon as possible.

Applications must be received ten days prior to the first planned event and no later than November 20, 2006.

The absolute last date to apply is November 20th, as TPS ends on November 30th.

Step Three: Host your TPS event and then, send in a Report of the TPS events you held. We especially like pictures!

That’s it!
