Have a spare bedroom?

Would you be willing to let a young responsible UU use it
next summer?

Read on.

What:  six week internship program provides young
adults an opportunity for leaning and reflection, engaging in personal and
spiritual growth., deepening their theological understanding of Unitarian
Universalist and doing justice work as a way to live their faith.

Fourteen young adults (ages 18-25) will come to

for a six week internship. We are aiming for seven in each location. Each
student will spend three days in a social justice work internship (e.g. working
at UUSC offices) and two days in leadership and spiritual development. On
Saturdays, they will be visiting cultural and historical landmarks in an
organized field trip. On Sundays, they are expected to attend services in the
local congregation.

Who: We are
seeking home hosts for these young adults. Hosts would provide a guest room that
the intern can use during the six weeks. We hope that the hosts are also willing
to provide them with laundry access, a parking spot if available, and kitchen
use. They will be receiving a stipend to purchase meals, so the hosts do not
need to feed them.

The interns have gone through an application process and will be asked to
sign a contract of their commitment. We expect responsible young adults who are
looking to strengthen their Unitarian Universalist spiritual ties.
